Water Feature Considerations in The Woodlands

The Woodlands spans two counties. Most of the community falls within Montgomery County, while the southern portion, including the Creekside Park village, lies in Harris County. That distinction can affect which county offices are involved in your project, so it’s worth knowing before construction begins.

Property owners also need to account for The Woodlands Township’s Residential Design Review Committee process. Each village has its own committee, and any improvement to an existing home, including pools, spas, and ponds, requires review and approval before work can start. The Residential Development Standards also require security barrier fencing that meets International Residential Code requirements for any property with a pool, hot tub, spa, or pond.
